Coupons, Brett Farve, and Exercise, Oh my!

The past few weeks have FLOWN by! Here's a few updates on what we've been up to:

Remember the whole coupon thing? Well, turns out that I will probably be jealous of those ladies on extreme couponing for a while.... great value at Wal-Mart mixed with a few coupons = a better deal than grocery stores in our area. I did get one free item.........

It was only $0.07 after taxes so it was practically free...right?

Last weekend, we went to a new Mexican restaurant with our friends, Papito's Mexican Grill. It was really good. About midway through our meal, one of my friends said, "Hey, isn't that Brett Farve?"
Sitting a table away from us with his family, was indeed, Brett Farve! (He lives in Hattiesburg). Apparently, he really is retiring from football. I was going to take a picture, BUT Brandon took my phone! (I was going to do it through my menu so no one would see...)

Monday, Brandon signed us up for a gym membership at 180 Fitness!

We're really excited about it. Wednesday night, we met with our trainer, Melanie. She's got us on our own exercise plans that work for both of us. Brandon's first goal is to lose 50lbs. My long-term goal is to lose 41 lbs. but I'm just focusing on 10 lbs. at a time. I was down a half a pound at weigh-in this week. (I'm still doing weight watchers.)  Here's hoping that extra time at the gym will help me get to my goal. Part of me wonders if it'll ever get off--- but I know if I keep tracking and exercising I will reach my goals (at least I hope so!). The best part was when we were filling out our getting to know you forms with our trainer. Brandon got to the question about what inspired you to work out and he wrote, "My wife." He is my motivation ever day to work out. Seeing him write that pushes me to keep going when I want to stop. We both want a healthier life. We know it will help us on our future endeavors.... : )

It's Raining... It's Pouring.....

We're in day two of our afternoon thunderstorms. It was so ridiculously hot the days prior our grill cover actually MELTED to our grill! (So much for keeping it safe!!) I definitely miss going to the pool though.

In other news, we are finishing up E3 at our house and I was REALLY excited to see the Nintendo console announcement...

I really want to get one when they come out---It looks really neat!

overstrike, call of duty modern warfare 3, ghost recon future soldier, rayman, rocksmith and what else brandon?!?

So, I told you guys we'd post more of the games that Brandon thought were noteworthy while we were watching  the Ubisoft Press Conference at E3 on G4.... Here's a few he liked------->

Overstrike
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Rayman

Rocksmith

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

I thought a lot of the games for the Kinect (for the 360) were pretty cool. I enjoyed the one with the crazy rabbits where they had to make the pictures... (I don't remember names as well as Brandon does) and I also thought the workout games were pretty cool. Brandon even said he would be more apt to workout if we had a Kinect because it was easier than having to worry about a board like you have to with the Wii Fit. (I still love my Wii Fit though!) So --- we are finishing up the conference now, will probably have a gazillion more games Brandon wants to buy $$$$$ so I will talk to you guys soon, I'm sure!
Brandon I think our TV is stuck on G4.......

It's that time of year again...... E3 on G4.Sometimes, I feel like this is Brandon's Super Bowl, but I enjoy it too! He was really shocked excited to see the trailer for Halo 4. (He played Halo 1, 2, and 3 and can tell you the story behind ALL of them.... I know, I asked...He told.) So, to show you what he was excited about, here's the trailer for Halo 4.

Personally, I'm waiting in antci......

....pation for Nintendo's big console announcement. (Sorry Wii!) Brandon said he heard it should be the successor to the game cube. Where is my old one?

So, we're only an hour and a half in, but when we see another announcement that Brandon goes gamer-geek on, I'll be back on to let you know!

"You'll make a blogger out of me yet...."

One of our goals this year was to start {and keep} a blog up and running! We have lots of friends and family members who don't get to see us as often as we'd like to see them so what better way to keep in touch than a blog!.... right?

SO to briefly catch you up on the latest Kirk happenings at #15 here's what you need to know:

* Amanda has been addicted to Raspberry Sweet Tea from Sonic and spending any free summer moment at the Fountainbleau Apartment Pool.

*Brandon is still fervently trying {and trying, and trying, and trying} to get a new job. He still works at Wal-Mart in Electronics. Hopefully, we'll be able to actually get one of his applications to shine through this crazily political hiring process. Darn you Wells Fargo! Please pray that God shows Brandon where he needs to be SOONish.

*Amanda has picked up crocheting and we're sure you'll see some of her projects on here. She's working on two blankets right now.... She also wants to start extreme couponing and getting stellar deals on groceries! She also is still on Weight Watchers and has currently lost 10lbs on her journey. She loves to exercise on her Wii Fit!

So, hopefully that let's you know where we are. Not too much going on, but then again, isn't that a good thing sometimes?

Have a great Summer and I'm sure you'll hear from us soon!!
